“Nirvana”

In Indian religions, the attainment of nirvana is moksha, liberation from the repeating cycle of birth, life, and death (reincarnation). Through this repetition one can attain stillness of the mind and body. The repetitious grind of the machine just as a repetition of chords and choruses can create stillness of the mind as well. For me this is how Nirvana inspired this art piece. The words, the chords, the drums all repeated to create music which affects the mind and can transport you from your current consciousness to a place of stillness. Nirvana was titled or labeled as “Grunge” just as this machine is a grungy rough machine. Both can create emotion through repetition and possibly transport you and calm the mind.
Feel free to tear off a little piece of the NIRVANA as it spills off the back of the machine and out into the unexpecting world.
